TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Rp25.5 billion budget allocated for the capital city’s slums in the community action plan (CAP) program has been slashed to Rp11.6 billion by the city’s legislative council (DPRD). This allocation previously made news headlines as the budget was deemed too fantastic.
The budget slash was agreed in the work meeting at Jakarta’s DPRD Commission D together with the city’s Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas.
“The budget for the CAP program is finally reduced from Rp25.5 billion to Rp11.6 billion allocated for 76 community units (RW),” said Commission D Speaker Ida Mahmudah on Tuesday, November 12.
Moreover, Ida said that the DPRD and the city’s housing department will search for proper universities in the field of city planning that will be able to replace the role of consultants.
Previously, the capital city Administration filed the budget for consultant fees for each of the city’s community units that amounted to around Rp400-Rp700 million for four months.
