Jokowi Reportedly Reappoints Agrarian Minister Sofyan Djalil

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sofyan Djalil claimed President Joko Widodo or Jokowi had re-assigned him as Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR) Minister or Chief of the National Land Agency (BPN) for the latter’s second-term cabinet.
“I would resume unfinished tasks regarding agrarian affairs, redistribution, agrarian reform,” said Sofyan at State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 22.
Sofyan pledged that in the next term of office he would focus on upholding just lands and agrarian reform, as well as provide legal clarity on land affairs. “The focus of the roadmap is all lands must be registered by 2025,” he added.
The minister further said that the nomenclature of his ministry would not change in the President’s new cabinet.
Sofyan Djalil was also flattered as Joko Widodo still trusted him to lead the same ministry. “It is an honor for me. Perhaps, the President considers that there are tasks I have not finished,” said Sofyan.
