TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan calls on the people to watch the inauguration of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin tomorrow, October 20, on television or through other media in order to maintain the situation and condition in Jakarta.

"Watch [it on] television, follow [the news on] other platforms and then you can continue your activities," he said at the city hall on Saturday, October 19.

The governor said Jakarta Administration has set a preparation to support the inauguration including deploying city personnel from the health and transportation sectors, until the civil service police unit (Satpol PP).

Anies also said that the Car Free Day tomorrow will be revoked to ease the preparation of the event. "Even though the inauguration will be held at noon but the officers will be busy since morning."

The former Education Minister added that the preparation of the presidential inauguration has been set since months ago, hoping it will run smoothly. "We've coordinated with the central [government] long before. Inshallah, everything goes well," Anies remarked.

The inauguration of President Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is slated to take place at 14:30. Military (TNI) and the Police have set at least 31,000 joint personnel to safeguard the event.
