TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo recently hinted on the composition of his upcoming Cabinet members, stating that it will be filled with new and old faces but will also see State Ministers aged under 30 years old.
“Yes, there will be familiar faces as State Ministers, but there will also be plenty of new faces,” said the President at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 16.
He revealed that 55 percent of the State Ministers in his second term as president will be filled with people from the professional background.
Widodo promised that he would announce members of his new Cabinet - dubbed the “Working Cabinet Chapter II” - after Sunday’s presidential and vice-presidential inauguration.
Furthermore, numerous meetings with opposition figures such as Democrat’s Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Gerindra Party’s Prabowo Subianto may suggest that Joko Widodo will open the door for his Cabinet to be filled with politicians from the opposition parties.
