TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has affirmed that several ministers of his first Working Cabinet will remain in his forthcoming cabinet, which will be announced soon after the presidential inauguration on Sunday, October 20.

“Yes, there will be previous ministers and many new ones,” said the President today, October 16, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

He claims to have not calculated the percentage of old and new ministers and assures the announcement will take place soon. “As soon as possible after the inauguration.”

Albeit the names have yet to be exposed, several political parties have sent signals about the ministerial positions they favor.

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), for instance, eyes several main positions that have become their portfolio since 2014, namely Home Affairs Minister, Legal and Human Rights Minister, and Defense Minister.

The post of Home Affairs Minister is reportedly chased after the party’s cadres, including Bambang Wuryanto, who is the PDIP’s campaign team head and the party’s head of Central Java branch.

PDIP also implies that it is willing to fill in ministries that close to the people in Jokowi’s second-term cabinet, such as Village Ministry and Agriculture Ministry.
