TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City bus operator Transjakarta has rerouted its two lines following the road closure around the House of Representatives (DPR) building, Central Jakarta, today, Oct. 14. The corporate spokesperson Nadia Diposanjoyo outlines the two routes are Stasiun Palmerah-Bundaran Senayan (1F) and Stasiun Palmerah-Tosari (1B).
“The route diversion is carried out because of road closure after the traffic light heading to Kemenpora (Ministry of Youth and Sports) building,” said Nadia in a statement Monday, Oct. 14.
Based on the attached photos, the police are seen standing guard at the toll exit on Jalan Gatot Subroto. Three police trucks block the road towards the DPR building.
According to Nadia, the two bus lines will directly access Patal Senayan from Palmerah Station, and the bus service until Bundaran Senayan and Tosari run normally. She assures other lines will not be affected.
“Transjakarta service of other operational routes operates as usual,” Nadia affirmed.
Previous reports suggested that the Indonesian Association of University Student Executive Bodies (BEM SI) planned to stage a demonstration before the DPR building and State Palace today. However, the association’s coordinator for Jabodetabek and Banten areas, Muhammad Abdul Basit, denied the information.
“We do not have a rally agenda tomorrow (Monday, Oct. 14). The circulated news is a hoax,” Abdul Basir or Abbas asserted, Sunday night, Oct. 13.
