TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician Kapitra Ampera was optimistic the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Fadli Zon will be appointed as a minister in the second working cabinet.

“One of [the ministers] will likely be Fadli Zon,” said Kapitra during a discussion held by Forum Jurnalis Merah Putih in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Kapitra recalled that the Gerindra politician said he was instructed to execute other tasks several days ago, which he considered a regular term used as a signal of Fadli’s appointment in the cabinet of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“I believe, he will enter [the cabinet],” Kapitra remarked.

As for other ministers, he said the President has pocketed all the names since the last two months. According to Kapitra, Jokowi was willing to announce his new executives to the public but was then prohibited by the legislative body.

“Because [he] has not been inaugurated. Meanwhile, if the names are announced, we can see positive or negative responses. That’s final,” he added.

In the final list of the ministers’ names, other than Fadli, Kapitra believed there are other names from the coalition party supporting Prabowo Subianto. “I think the names are there. Because Prabowo focuses on trade, agriculture, and investment,” he said.
