Two Foreigners Honored with 2019 Hassan Wirajuda Award

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One South Korean and a Russian national recently received the Hassan Wirajuda Award 2019 from the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry that was held at the Bidakara Assembly Hall on Wednesday, September 11.

The two foreign nationals are part of the 17 people who were awarded for their contribution toward the protection of Indonesian nationals abroad.

The South Korean is Lim Kyong Il, local staff of the Indonesian Embassy for South Korea in Seoul, while the other is Valeriy A Rodchenko, Indonesian Honorary Consulate in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Both Lim and Valeriy arrived in Jakarta to accept the awards directly from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi.

Lim accepted the award in the category as Indonesian representative staff and state official while Rodchenko was granted the award in the category as Indonesian representative work partner.

The foreign affairs ministry also handed awards for seven Indonesians, two mass media companies, two regional administrations, two non-government agencies, and two government agencies.
