TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pertamina's optimization of domestic oil and condensate lifting has resulted in the reduced crude oil import by 35 percent. The company's import value reached 339,000 barrel per day (MBPD) last year.

The state energy company recorded until August 2, the total of the purchase deal with the 39 cooperation contract contractors (KKKS) reached 1,236,000 barrel crude oil per day (MBCD).

The company's VP Corporate Communication Fajriyah Usman explained the total purchase of domestic lifting had increased significantly compared to that of 2018.

“From the total volume, we optimized the supply based on the requirement, type and volume, and the business deal," she said Tuesday, August 13.

According to Fajriyah, the domestic lifting had reduced the company's crude oil import. In the period of January-June 2019, it recorded at 220 MBPD.

"Meaning that the composition of import and domestic lifting of 681 MBPD has reached around 25 percent and 75 percent, respectively," she added. The condition has improved if compared to that in 2018 when it saw 37 percent (339 MBPD) for the import and 63 percent (571 MBPD) for the domestic.

Besides, the energy company has also managed to cut fuel import such as Avtur and Diesel (locally called Solar). With the innovation of refinery optimization, since May this year, Pertamina has fulfilled the domestic needs of Avtur and Solar from own refineries.
