TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After introducing their latest mobile app service, domestic airline Sriwijaya Air is set to launch a new product dubbed the premium economy for its East Indonesian flights.

They are eyeing on launching it on July 29, 2019, for its Makassar-Timika and Jayapura, and Makassar to Denpasar routes. The premium economy, says the carrier, is an answer to improve the customers’ convenience.

“This product is to accommodate the needs of economy class passengers that continue to grow,” said Sriwijaya Air’s Vice President Corporate Secretary Retri Maya in a press release.

Passengers of the premium economy are inclined to priority check-in and boarding, more spacious legroom, an additional 25 kilograms of baggage, up to welcome drinks and meals.

The customers can access these add-ons through a number of Sriwijaya Air channels or travel agents. The product is currently limited to specific routes but the carrier says it plans to introduce it to other flight routes.
