TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia Group claimed that the airliner’s seat load factor (SLF) could reach 85 percent after a week of domestic route diversion from Bandung to Kertajati Airport in Majalengka. The state-run airliner serves Kertajati-Denpasar roundtrip route every day with Boeing 737-800 NG that has the capacity of 162 passengers.

Garuda CEO IGN Askhara Danadiputra said the percentage is the average of the load factor recorded from July 1 to 5, 2019.

“Garuda operation at Kertajati Airport shows promising traffic of passengers. We are optimistic that we can maximize the potential of the development of flight network from this airport to other regions,” Askhara said in a press statement on Saturday, July 6.

Despite the good load factor at Kertajati-Denpasar route, he admitted that the service for other routes of Garuda should be improved especially since it is a new airport.

"Kertajati Airport has a promising potential," he said, adding that the national airliner is committed to supporting the development of the airport, especially by improving the SLF, as well as monitoring the flight operations and passengers’ traffic.

This is Garuda’s effort in supporting the government program to accelerate the development of new economy and tourism in West Java and surrounding area through access expansion of national flight’s connectivity.

Askhara added that during 5 days of operation at Kertajati Airport, Garuda Indonesia recorded 100 percent in its on-time performance (OTP).
