TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General Muhammad Prasetyo said that everyone should understand the Supreme Court verdict on rejecting Baiq Nuril’s appeal for a case review (PK). He added that Nuril had previously followed all legal proceedings; from an appeal, cassation, until case review or PK.

"Well, if the PK is rejected, all parties should understand that all of the legal proceedings have been done," Prasetyo said at his office in South Jakarta, Friday, July 5.

Baiq Nuril will have to undergo her sentence of six-month imprisonment and Rp500 million fines subsided with 3-month in jail following her action in recording a conversation with sexual harassment content done by the principal of a high school where she works at.

The execution is pending on the copy of the verdict, said Prasetyo. "We’ll see and study the verdict. Law isn’t just about certainty and justice but also the expediency,” he remarked.

As the one who appealed for the case review, Baiq Nuril, was found guilty for recording a conversation via mobile phone between herself and the principal of SMAN 7 Mataram high school, Muslim, about a year ago. The conversation allegedly bearing sexual harassment content against Nuril.

Nuril kept the recording and handed it over to an individual named Imam Mudawin who then kept the file on his laptop until it spread.
