TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of Gerindra Party’s communication board Andre Rosiade announced a number of plans set by party chairman Prabowo Subianto following the 2019 presidential election result. One of it is to hold a meeting with president-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

Pak Prabowo will soon meet Pak Jokowi to extend silaturahmi, to strengthen national ties, and suppress the tensions shown by supporters,” said Andre to Tempo on Sunday, June 30.

However, Andre is yet able to reveal the exact date the meeting would happen. He only asserted that Prabowo himself mentioned it in a meeting with coalition parties on Friday, June 28.

In the meeting taking place in Prabowo’s house at Kertanegara, South Jakarta, he promised that he would notify the meeting’s result to Jokowi and also promises to be completely transparent about the matter despite the official disbandment of his coalition parties.

“Prabowo always tells it as it is, he’s a gentleman, there will be nothing done behind his back,” said Andre.

Following the election day on April 17, Jokowi more than once expressed his intentions to meet Prabowo. After he was officially named the president-elect for the 2019-2024 administration, Jokowi invited Prabowo Subianto – Sandiaga Uno to build the nation together.
