TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Four state-owned enterprises (SOE) have been listed in the 2019 world’s largest public companies released by the famous US-based economic magazine Forbes. The SOEs are bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Mandiri, Telkom Indonesia, and Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI).

“I am so proud of the four firms listed in the world’s largest public companies by Forbes magazine. This ranking shows that Indonesian SOEs has strong competition with other top global companies,” said SOE Minister Rini Soemarno in a written statement, Thursday, June 13.

Rini explained the achievement was attributable to SOE’s better and stronger performance and synergy through its vision; One Nation, One Vision, One Family to Excellence.

“When I was first appointed as SOE Minister, SOE’s revenue amounted to Rp143 trillion, and with hard works of all SOE people, it jumped to over Rp200 trillion in 2018,” she said.

Rini underlined her ministry would maintain and enhance the positive performance to constantly serve the country as an agent of development focusing on community welfare.

Forbes Magazine earlier released the annual ranking of the world’s largest public companies in 2019. A total of 2,000 companies were listed from 61 countries. The rankings are based on a composite score of market value, revenue, profits, and assets in 2018.
