TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - On the second day of Idul Fitri or Eid al-Fitr, North Jakarta's amusement park Ancol saw a 20-percent surge of visitors compared to last year.

Rika Lestari, corporate communications officer of PT Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, said that the public is more enthusiastic to visit because the park has new rides and events.

"Additionally, ticket prices are not up—we even have promotions in our recreation units," Rika said in a written statement, Friday, June 7.

Rika said that Ancol had more than 120,000 visitors of Thursday, which was the first day of Eid. Last year, 101,452 people visited the park on Eid.

The park is targeting to see 436,000 visits throughout the Eid holiday.

According to the Jakarta's Tourism Board, local tourist destinations like Ancol, Monas and the Old Town saw higher numbers of visits this Eid. In total, the visitors' number more than doubled to 318,070 people from last year's 112,161.
