TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Tourism Agency recorded that the number of tourists during the second day of Eid Al-Fitr increases by 100 percent compared to last year. This year the number of tourists is recorded at 318,070, while last year it had only reached 112,161.

"The number still does not include visitors of the Planetarium and Ragunan [Zoo]," said Chief of the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency Edy Junaedi on Friday, June 7, 2019.

Edy said that there are at least five popular tourist spots in Jakarta this year, including Ancol with 93,545 visitors.

On second position there is the National Monument with 90,174 visitors.

"Some 13,849 entered the monument building," Edy said.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Old Town area was visited by 65,868 visitors, followed by Taman Mini Indonesia Indah with 26,893 visitors and the Thousand Island Archipelago with 10,151 visitors.

Edy predicted that the number of tourists will continue to increase. "Not to mention that lots of museums are open until the evening, and many tourist spots offer special attractions," he concluded.
