TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Thirty-nine hospitals are in danger of not being able to continue working with the Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan/BPJS-Kes) because they have not managed accreditation. Accreditation is an absolute requirement for hospitals to be able to partner with BPJS Kesehatan.
The Health Ministry's director of health services Bambang Wibowo said there are currently 2,430 hospitals in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan. Until January 2019, 720 of them that have not been accredited.

"As many as 29 of them have not registered until now," he said in his office on Tuesday, May 7.
Bambang said that hospitals that fail to get accredited by June, which is the deadline, will no longer be able to partner with BPJS Kesehatan. Hospitals that are processing to get accreditation will be given special permission to provide full service for the national health insurance (JKN) participants.
