TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice presidential candidate Sandiaga Uno said that he has yet communicated with the Chief of Democrat Party's Joint Task Force Command (Kogasma) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) in light of the AHY's meeting with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.
However, Sandiaga said that he has good prejudice about the meeting. "I have not been updated yet by AHY about the meeting. I'm positively thinking it is a silaturahmi," said Sandiaga in Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta on Thursday, May 2, 2019.
President Jokowi invited the son of former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to a meeting on Thursday afternoon, May 2, 2019. Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said it would be a one-on-one meeting.
Sandiaga was reluctant to respond to the possibility of Democrat Party joining Jokowi's coalition. According to him, his present task is to monitor the process of the 2019 general elections to run well and in accrodance with the people's expectation.
Sandiaga believed the coalition that endorsed him and Prabowo Subianto in the 2019 presidential election remained solid. The coalition was named Indonesia Adil Makmur, consisted of Gerindra Party, Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), National Mandate Party (PAN), Democrat Party, and Berkarya Party.
"Our focus is not looking to the future related to the current election result. I believe Democrat, PAN, Berkarya, Gerindra are still solid," said the former Jakarta deputy governor.
