TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spokesman for the Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin campaign team (TKN) Ace Hasan Syadzily deemed the Ijtima Ulama meeting held yesterday as a meeting steered by campaign team members of Prabowo Subianto.
“That agenda is no more than a reckless political maneuver that is meant to delude the public,” he said on Wednesday night.
The reason he strongly suspects it is the meeting’s topic of discussion to potentially request for the incumbent presidential candidate to be disqualified from the presidential election. Ace Hasan suspects that the opposition is attempting to recreate the situation in Venezuela on mobilizing masses to protest against the upcoming elected president.
“This is clearly a dangerous maneuver for the national sovereignty and the future of democracy in our beloved country. Indonesia is not Venezuela, don’t even dream of creating a situation that is happening in Venezuela,” Ace warned.
He also called out the mentality of Jokowi’s opposition campaign team that is not prepared to lose. “This made them frantically turn right and left and also used another maneuver labeled as Ijtima Ulama,” said Ace.
The third Ijtima Ulama meeting was held on Wednesday at Hotel Lorin, Sentul, Bogor, and produced several recommendations that sides with Prabowo. They agreed that the presidential election held on April 17 as an election marred with frauds that is systematic and massive, so they claim.
The third point of agreement in the meeting urged the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) to disqualify presidential candidate Jokowi.
Commenting on what the meeting produced, TKN Abdul Kadir Karding said that the decision is not based and does not reflect the decisions of actual Ulema.
