TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The daily caretaker of the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin campaign team (TKN), Moeldoko, said Joko Widodo was set to meet his rival at the 2019 presidential race, Prabowo Subianto, anytime.

“Basically, Pak Jokowi is ready anytime [for the meeting]. The point is that Jokowi will initiate an act for a harmonious relationship,” said Moeldoko in Jakarta on Friday.

Moeldoko said the meeting would take place at the right momentum and estimated that it could happen after the announcement of the victor of the 2019 general election on May 22.

“It could also take place nearing the Eid al Fitr celebrations. I think the right momentum will arrive,” he said.

Moeldoko also viewed that calls from multiple parties for reconciliation after the elections were positive suggestions as everyone looked for a stable and secure situation. However, he added that the meeting was presently unlikely as both camps were still occupied by internal matters and focusing on vote tallies.

Earlier, a number of academics and religious figures called for a reconciliation between both presidential camps ahead of the announcement of the results of the 2019 general elections by the General Election Commission (KPU).

On Monday, April 22, leaders of Muhammadiyah, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the Indonesian Mosque Council, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and the Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI) met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla and said they were ready to facilitate the meeting.
