Cops Raid 2 Homes in Search of KPU Server Hoax Creator

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police raided two places in Bekasi, West Java, suspecting them to be the locations where false reports about KPU's rigged server originated from. The hoax spread online claims that the elections committee's servers were 'fixed' to make Joko Widodo and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin win this year's presidential elections.
"Our cyber team raided two homes in Bekasi based on tracking before their phone signals went off," The Police Headquarters' Information Bureau chief, Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo said in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 17.

Dedi said that the raid was aimed at catching a man suspected to have been the source of the hoax. But the suspect, WN, was not in either of those places. The police are still searching for him.
WN, member of a non-profit organization from East Java, posted claims to social media saying that the KPU's Singapore-based servers were rigged to ensure Jokowi's win by 57 percent votes.
Earlier, the police captured to men, EW and RD, for acting as a "buzzer" to spread the KPU server hoax.
