TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) has gathered reports regarding the voting in numbers of polling stations (TPS) that were not running smoothly due to administrative issue and a delay in the distribution of election logistics.

The Bawaslu commissioner Fritz Edward Siregar outlined a total of 38 TPS will likely hold delayed elections and the voting in 1,395 TPS is possibly postponed.

“The main cause is due to a delay in logistics distribution, lack of ballot materials or voters are not listed in the final voter list (DPT), additional voter list (DPTb), and even voters don’t possess ID card of the respective region to use A5 Form (to cast a ballot),” Fritz explained during a press conference in the board office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 17.

He said the issue occurred almost in all Indonesia’s regions. Meanwhile, the delay in distributing the materials for the Indonesia elections 2019 happened in Papua province.

“As many as 367 TPS in Abepura district, 335 TPS in South Jayapura, and 288 TPS in Intan Jaya district,” Fritz mentioned.

Meanwhile, the reelection is possibly held in 38 polling places because of voters’ data validity. “Some 11 TPS in Riau will re-vote as people from other regions who are not listed in DPT or DPTb cast a ballot. Referred to Article 372, that issue has met requirements to conduct re-voting,” Fritz concluded.
