TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Retailers are offering huge discounts for voters to celebrate the 2019 Elections today, April 17. As a result, people are flocking malls and shopping centers after voting to buy discounted items, from food to apparels.
"Some outlets are packed with visitors," Tutum Rahanta, deputy chairman of the Indonesian Retail Businesses Association, told Tempo via text message on Wednesday, April 17.
Tutum hopes that the day's visit can increase sales by up to 30 percent.
Some retailers in Gandaria City Mall in South Jakarta, as well as Bintaro Xchange Mall in South Tangerang, are among the most packed today.
Dining places like Marugame Udon at Gandaria City saw long lines of diners, as well as Wing Stop at Bintaro Xchange.
"I'm lining up for the price cut for two combo fries and the Rp30,000 cashback," Wing Stop's visitor Riza said.
