Bogor Issues Circular Letter on Election Day as Public Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Bogor Acting Mayor, Ade Sarip Hidayat, issued a circular letter concerning the national holiday of the 2019 general elections on April 17. He instructed all companies in the region set the election day as a holiday for workers.
“The circular letter has been inked on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Today, the Worker Agency will spread the letter to the regional working units (SKPD), regional-owned firms, and all companies in Bogor city,” said Ade who is the regional secretary, on Friday, April 12.
According to the Mayor, companies’ leaders in the city must provide its workers’ right on casting a ballot in the voting day because it is a national democracy event.
Meanwhile, companies in service sectors such as hospital and gas station are suggested to implement a shift schedule. So all employees will have the right to attend the voting station (TPS).
Ade further said that the circular letter was a follow-up of the President Decree No. 10 of 2019 on the voting day of the 2019 general elections as a national holiday.
