TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) in Kuala Lumpur Yaza Azzahara Ulyana, explained the chronology behind the viral video where punctured vote ballot papers were discovered.

The following is what Yaza explained to Tempo via Whatsapp messenger on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

At around 12:48 AM local time, Yaza received a report from a Prabowo – Sandiaga Uno campaign team (BPN) volunteers. "The BPN volunteers, identified as Parlaungan reported through Whatsapp on alleged smuggling of ballot papers," Yaza said.

Yaza immediately took action and with another member of the Kuala Lumpur Panwaslu Rizki Israeni Nur, took off to the location the alleged electoral fraud took place at Taman Universiti Sungai Tangkas Bangi 43000 Kajang, Selangor.

"It's a storehouse that was filled with voting ballot papers inside approximately 20 diplomatic bags, 10 black plastic bags, and 5 white sacks labeled 'Pos Malaysia',” said Yaza.

A sample taken from the location found that the ballot papers were already punctured on the picture of candidate pair Jokowi – Ma'ruf Amin, and on the name of a Nasdem party legislative candidate.

On 1:30 PM local time, six Malaysian police arrived at the location and questioned several witnesses in the location before police lines were placed in the area.

Furthermore, at 2:30 PM, Panwaslu received a report from Prabowo’s camp of yet another alleged fraud in a separate location. "It was at a house located in the Bandar Baru Bangi area in Selangor [15 minutes away from the initial location]," said Yaza.

He then went to the second location at 5:00 PM after filing a police report at the Sungai Tangkas Police headquarter. The second location housed 158 voting ballot sacks with 216 to 230 voting ballots that have been tampered with.
