TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As of Tuesday, March 19, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani announced that 7.3 million taxpayers in Indonesia have reported their 2018 tax return (SPT Pajak)
“Those who have filed their tax returns up to March 19 reached 7,309,825 people, which is a 15.32 percent growth,” said Sri Mulyani in a press conference at the Finance Ministry’s headquarters in Central Jakarta yesterday.

The ministry is eyeing on achieving its goal of 85 percent tax compliance, amounting to 15.5 million tax returns. However, this goal is lower than the ministry’s initial goal of 18.5 million tax returns.
According to Sri Mulyani, tax return growth can be seen in personal returns, especially those who reported their tax reports via e-filing and e-forms. She also announced that the ministry saw 203,159 corporate tax returns.
“People are getting used to the e-filing system. I am glad and thankful for this trend,” said Minister Sri Mulyani.
