TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) chapter of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) suspected there was alleged violation during a campaign event of presidential hopeful Joko Widodo or Jokowi on March 2 in Ex MTQ area, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. Bawaslu examined the issue in coordination with its regional agencies.
Bawaslu Sultra head, Hamiruddin Udu, explained that the alleged violation was found on the mobilization of state civil servants and the use of state facility by regional heads.
“We are still examining the presence of regional heads during the campaign event of candidate number 01, especially the use of state facility and the mobilization of village heads to attend the campaign event,” said Udu Tuesday, March 5.
The head of Bawaslu Kendari, Sahinuddin, said that his side would run an investigation, which would be led by Bawaslu Sultra, into the potential alleged violation for seven days following the report submitted by the district-level election supervisory committee (Panwascam) on the matter.
Sahinuddin suspected that the event was the campaign event held by the incumbent candidate because the name of Jokowi and his election number were displayed in the banner installed on the main stage. The participants also wore campaign attributes.
