TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A spokesman for the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno team (BPN), Ferdinand Hutahaean, announced his support for the three women recently arrested by the police for committing black campaigns against Jokowi.

The three women allegedly went door-to-door and told people that should Jokowi win the presidential race there would be no more Islamic azan (prayer calling) and that same-sex marriage would be legalized.

Ferdinand confirmed the three were volunteers of his camp, yet shrugged off allegations they were committing black campaigns, but rather an expression of concerns and assumptions.

“That is not a black campaign, but [they were] merely voicing what they feel and assume based on the facts that are happening right now,” Ferdinand tweeted on his official account @FerdinandHaean.

Earlier, the footage of the door-to-door campaigns went viral on social media, one of which published by director Iman Brotoseno @TheREAL_Abi in Twitter. The women were seen speaking in Sundanese and explaining there would be no more azan, women would no longer wear hijabs, and same-sex marriage would be legalized if Jokowi were re-elected.

“If they feel that what the women said was untrue, go ahead and deny their claims with arguments and facts. Not by imprisoning them,” said Ferdinand.
