TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto is targeting vehicles export to reach 400,000 units this year. The target is 14.8 percent higher than last year's 364,000 units.

He added that of the 400,000 units export target, 95 percent is expected to take the form of completely built up (CBU), and the rest as completely knock-down (CKD)according to importers' demand.

"This year we expect 400,000 units exported. But if we have new policies prepared, we hope the number would be higher," Airlangga said in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 12.

In 2018, the minister said, vehicle exports volume was 364,000 units—comprising of 264,000 CBU and 82,000CKD. The value amounted to US$6.6 billion in total.
