TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Political communication expert from the University of Paramadina Hendri Satrio predicts that the upcoming presidential debate will exhibit an authentic version of the presidential candidates.

He reasoned that the presidential candidates on Sunday, February 17, will share the stage without any pre-prepared notes of questions that will be asked in the debate.

“Both presidential candidates will naturally express their own authentic answers,” said Hendir Satrio in Jakarta on Tuesday. The second round of presidential debate will not involve the vice presidential candidates.

Hendri further predicts that both Jokowi and Prabowo will argue against each other’s data since the debate will talk about economic development in the energy and food security issues.

“Not knowing what to answer would not be a problem and only depends on how the candidate expresses his incomprehension. Which further dictates the importance of data preparation,” said Hendri.

At the next presidential debate, Both Jokowi and Prabowo will be challenged to create solutions to a number of issues such as reducing oil and gas imports and confront the fact of Indonesia’s sluggish oil exploration and how to deal with it.
