Jokowi Team Holds Painting Auction for Campaign Funds

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The campaign team of Jokowi - Ma'ruf invited a number of entrepreneurs to attend an art exhibition dubbed Satu Arah Untuk Indonesia Maju or A Way to Indonesia Advance at Ballroom of Pullman Hotel, Central Park, Jakarta. The event is held starting Sunday, February 10 until today, February 11.

The team treasurer, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, explained that the exhibition was a fundraising event for the incumbent candidate. “Paintings will be auctioned, and painters will donate their arts for fundraising. We have invited many businessmen,” said Trenggono via a phone call on Sunday evening, February 10.

Paintings and artworks displayed in the exhibition were made by I Nyoman Nuarta, Goenawan Muhammad, Hanafi, Erica, Nasirun, Anton Subiyanto, Kartika Affandi, Putu Sutawijaya, Hojatul, Gusmen Heriadi, Deddy Sufriadi, and Heri Kris.

Meanwhile, the team secretary Dewi Soeharto said that the cross-generation artworks exhibition was held as an effort of the campaign team to pioneer a cultural campaign that promoting cultural values, creativity, and cultural works.

“This is artworks made by nation’s children, presents as a form of Jokowi - Ma'ruf’s leadership that placing Indonesian culture as a strategic way to build the country’s character and identity,” said Dewi on Sunday.
