TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arcandra Tahar invited fuel oil corporate bodies (BU BBM) on Friday to discuss the prices of non-subsidized general fuels. He wanted to set fair prices of non-subsidized fuels.

"This is consistent with directives from Mr. Minister to see what are the fair prices of non-subsidized general fuels, such as Pertalite, Pertamax, Perta Series, Super, V-Power and so on," he said.

The Directorate General of Oil and Gas said in its official statement carried in the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry that Minister Jonan had asked the newly-inaugurated director of downstream oil and gas development to formulate a policy to ensure fair fuel prices in the country. The prices should be not too high nor too low, particularly those of general fuels which are not controlled by the government, he said.

State oil and gas firm Pertamina has reportedly adjusted the prices of non-subsidized fuels, along with a decline in average global crude prices and the rupiah's appreciation against the US dollar.
