PT INKA: LRT Jabodebek Train Construction 15 percent Complete

TEMPO.CO, Madiun - State-owned manufacturing company PT Industri Kereta Api (PT INKA) said the construction of Light Rail Transit (LRT) Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi (Jabodebek) ordered by state-owned railway company PT KAI had reached 15 percent completion.
“The construction of the train physic for general reaches 15 percent,” said PT INKA manager for LRT project, Panji Sulaksono, in Madiun, Tuesday, January 15.
According to Panji, the company has completed the construction for 48 car bodies, and four train sets of them or 24 car bodies have entered a finishing stage. “We presently start to install the interior component, electricity, brake and signal system,” he added.
INKA set a target to complete the physical construction of LRT Jabodebek in October 2019. Then, the company would commence an internal static trial run before sending the train to the site for further tests.
LRT Jabodebek is a strategic project of the government in a bid to provide ease and quick transportation for the public. The project value reaches Rp3.9 trillion for 31 train sets or 186 car bodies.
For the LRT Jabodebek project, PT INKA synergizes with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) for the train design and the trial runs, including design review validation and verification, reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS, Project Management, as well as supervision on the quality process.
