TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Lampung provincial administration planned to promote millennial tourism sites in a bid to recover the tourism sector post the Sunda Strait tsunami at the end of December 2018.

Lampung Governor M Ridho Ficardo said in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday, that his side had improved the attraction, accessibility, and amenity (3A) in the region.

“The most vital thing to do is to recover the image [of Lampung] that the region is prone to disaster and other which take time,” said Ridho.

According to him, attempts to recover the image is crucial and must not be dismissed to then build the image of tourism region of Lampung following the devastating tsunami.

Thus, one of the efforts to improve the tourism image is through millennial generation by encouraging them to promote tourism sites on social media.

“There are many promotions of millennial tourism on social media, so we will synergize with travel bloggers, Genpi (Generasi Pesona Indonesia), and other stakeholders via a hashtag #Lampungitukerreen and so on. Banten can imitate it,” Ridho explained.

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya appreciated strategies carried out by Banten and Lampung administrations. The budget allocation for the tourism sector after the tsunami had been earmarked at Rp9 billion for Banten and Rp33billion for Lampung.
