TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Telkomsel hands over humanitarian assistance donation from its loyal customers to tsunami victims in South Lampung.

“This time, the humanitarian assistance from Telkomsel is handed over directly to the South Lampung's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) through Rumah Zakat,” said GM Sales of South Sumatra’s Telkomsel, Gatot P Utomo in South Lampung, Saturday, December 29.

The handover, said Gatot, was received directly by South Lampung Regency Inspector Joko Sapta at the main refugee post in South Lampung, on Friday, 28 December.

Telkomsel handed over Rp50 million in cash obtained from 100,000 customers in Sumatra who exchanged their 10 Telkomsel POINTS for disaster victims.

The customers can still donate using Telkomsel POINTS by sending an SMS, type DONASI and send to 777.

The Telkomsel and Rumah Zakat also facilitate customers from all over Indonesia to donate to disaster victims through UMB*800*01#, TCASH Wallet application, and QR Code.

Gatot added that his company also distributes basic and personal needs for disaster victims, including baby and toddlers packages for victims who are breastfeeding and have toddlers.

Telkomsel also provides free telephone facilities at the Cugung Refugee Post in Rajabasa Sub-district, South Lampung Regency and the Main Refugee Command Post at the South Lampung Regent official residence.

Besides, it also provides free starter card packages for volunteers and disaster officials on duty to facilitate communication and coordination in post-disaster recovery.

Regarding the post-disaster network, Telkomsel network in South Lampung is functioning normally without interference so that it can serve customers.

Gatot said that Telkomsel continuously monitors the quality of its services in affected areas so that the customer service is maintained and ensured that customers can easily access communication.
