TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Second Sergeant Jhoni Risdianto, the alleged shooter of the Indonesian military (TNI) member Lt. Col. Dono Kuspriyanto, will likely be removed from his unit and face a 15-year prison sentence.

Lieutenant Colonel Dono was shot dead by Jhoni Risdianto, a TNI member of the Air Force Military Police Center unit, in front of the Santa Maria Fatima School, in Bidara Cina, East Jakarta, on Tuesday night, December 25.

“Subjected to Article 338 concerning murder, he will definitely be dismissed,” said TNI's Head of Information for the regional military command (Kodam Jaya), Infantry Colonel Kristomei Sianturi, to reporters at the Kodam Jaya Media Center, East Jakarta, Wednesday, December 26.

The TNI and Police joint personnel arrested Jhoni Risdianto in Kramatjati, East Jakarta, Wednesday morning, December 26, at around 4:10.

The shooting was triggered because Second Sergeant Jhoni Risdianto was upset that his motorcycle was hit by a car driven by Lt. Col. Dono Kuspriyanto. The perpetrator chased the victim while firing shots at the victim’s car.

The victim was killed after about 15 minutes of the chase. “The victim died because he was shot on the eyelid and chest until the bullet penetrated his stomach,” Kristomei said.

Around the shooting location, the police found nine bullet casings allegedly fired by TNI's Second Sergeant Jhoni Risdianto.
