TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security Affairs Wiranto is reportedly holding a state-ministerial level coordination meeting at his office today regarding air defense system.

“Today we will talk about several scheduled issues, firstly is about the continuation of the partnership with South Korea on developing a fighter jet. Secondly, we will discuss the follow up of the procurement of the Sukhoi SU-35,” said Wiranto when he opened the meeting.

The closed meeting commenced at 09:45 and was attended by a number of state officials such as Finance Ministry’s Director General Budget Askolani, members of the Trade Ministry, and the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Lembong.

Indonesia started the partnership with South Korea back in 2015 under a strategic cooperation agreement program that sees both countries hand-in-hand developing the generation 4.5 KFX/IFX stealth fighter until its prototype phase. Out of six prototypes planned, one will be handed to Indonesia.
