3 International Events Safe, JK Appreciates National Police, TNI

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla appreciated the performance of the Indonesian National Police and the National Army or TNI in maintaining the security at three international-level events, the Asian Games, the Asian Para Games, and the International Monetary Fund-World Bank (IMF-WB) annual meeting.
“I want to thank the police and the TNI, because the last three major events, namely the Asian Games, Asian Para Games and the IMF in Bali, are all safe,” he said at PTIK, Jakarta, Monday, October 15.
JK said the security of the three events was very important. Just one blast of firing occurred, the whole world would find out. “If there are two finance ministers from other countries die, we are finished!” he said.
JK said that if an area is not safe, the investors would be reluctant to invest their capital. As a result, the economy will be disrupted.
The Division Head of the National Police Public Relations Inspector General Setyo Wasisto said that the success of the National Police was not separated from the cooperation of various parties, including the community. “When we were on duty, the community also cooperated,” he said.
