Nicholas Saputra Reveal Reason for Joining `Aruna dan Lidahnya`

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Star of Aruna dan Lidahnya, a movie that is more of a tribute to Indonesia`s culinary world, Nicholas Saputra revealed the reason why he took the role as Bono that united him with co-star Dian Sastrowardoyo who plays the main character Aruna Rai.

One of the reasons why he agreed to be in the movie, that is based on Laksmi Simanjuntak’s novel, is the dynamic-styled script that was offered.

“The dialogue is natural that mimics dialogues that we use every day, but it is also able to touch the viewers,” said Nicholas who asserted that a good script is his holy book upon executing a dialogue for the character’s concept.

"Aruna dan Lidahnya" is yet another major Indonesian movie that unites Nicholas Saputra and Dian Sastrowardoyo as the movie’s main characters. Both were first united in the past Indonesian hit titled "Ada Apa Dengan Cinta."

Nicholas’ character Bono is a cook that yearns to find authentic Indonesian cuisine recipes who follows his best friend Aruna in visiting a number of Indonesian cities as an epidemiologist investigating bird flu cases across Indonesian regions. The pair is accompanied by food critic Nad (played by Hannah Al Rashid) and Aruna’s former coworker Farish (played by Oka Antara).

Adding to Nicholas Saputra’s positive view of the movie’s script, Director Edwin said that "Aruna dan Lidahnya" is a movie where viewers can find it relatable. “The viewers will relate to the movie’s characters, which is also filled with humor,” he said.
