TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Democratic Party's Central Executive Board Jansen Sitindaon, said that Democrat Party General Chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) would not accompany the Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno during the election number drawing at the General Election Commission (KPU) office on Friday, September 21, 2018.
Jansen said that the Party is currently investigating the news published by Asia Sentinel, an online news website based in Hong Kong. "Looking at the density of the party's internal activities, we will focus on completing [our agenda] first. Maybe representatives will be sent," Jansen said on Friday, September 21, 2018.
Asia Sentinel wrote that SBY and 30 other officials had conducted money laundering amounting to USD 12 billion (equivalent to IDR 177 trillion). The online news website has previously delivered an apology to SBY and the Democratic Party.
According to Jansen, the Democrat Party never take the news lightly. Later this afternoon, the Party will hold a meeting to discuss the results of the investigation. SBY did not want this problem to disrupt the winning effort of Prabowo - Sandiaga.
