Ramadan, Police Seize 320 Bottles of Liquor at Depok Terminal

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Depok City Police seized 320 bottles of liquor in a raid during Ramadan on Sunday, May 20. It was done from a number of stalls in the area of Depok City Terminal.

“There are also 60 packs of bootleg liquor such as ciu and lece," said Chief of Jaguar Team Depok Police Inspector Winam Agus on Monday, May 21.

Winam said, besides taking action to stop the circulation of liquor during Ramadan, Depok Police also conduct the brawl prevention. When the patrol was done, six young men who were fighting in the area of Sukmajaya were arrested.

"When they were arrested, they have drunk liquor purchased at Terminal Depok," Winam said.

According to Winam, the police then conducted a raid on the location of the stalls. The perpetrator of a brawl that occurs often usually in a drunk condition.

"Liquor becomes one of the triggers of criminal violations," he said.

He said the seized liquor during Ramadan was secured in Depok Police. Furthermore, it will be destroyed along with other evidence.
