Romi to be Jokowi`s VP Candidate is a shame, PPP Politician says

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - A senior politician of the United Development Party (PPP) chapter Yogyakarta Syukri Fadholi deemed that it is embarrassing for the party’s chairman Romahurmuziy or known as Romi to be the running mate of Jokowi in the presidential election next year.
“Romi’s aggressive movement to propose himself as the vice presidential candidate is imaginative and worthless. I considered it as a shame for PPP,” said Syukri, Monday, April 23.
Syukri implied the party’s chair behavior did not reflect the behavior and ethics of a leader considering the candidacy process should have been done in a common way. He noted that the PPP Romi’s camp that was recognized by the government should have embraced and attempted to do reconciliation to PPP Djan Faridz’s camp as the legitimate chairman of the party.
“PPP was split into two due to the dualism leadership. Romi should have brought up the unity,” said Syukri.
Syukri added Yogyakartans have not acknowledged Romi as PPP chairman yet, and also did not recognized Djan Faridz who they deemed has deviated the party.
Meanwhile, other PPP politician Fuad Andreago said, “we will not give our support to PPP or other parties. We hope two camps of PPP will achieve a reconciliation and hold an extraordinary meeting.”
