TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A helicopter owned by PT Indonesia Morowali Park (PT IMIP) carrying six passengers and two crew members crashed at the Morowali District, Central Sulawesi, today at 09:20 local time.
“One PT IMIP employee was killed in the incident while six others injured,” as stated by the Transportation Minister’s press release today.

According to reports, the injured were Captain I Rudi A, Captain II Deliati Hasiolan Gulo, and three other passengers. The person killed in the incident has been reportedly identified as Aris Heni Irawan.
The helicopter was scheduled to fly to Kendari and at 09:15 the helicopter departed from PT IMIP’s helipad. However, roughly around 09:17, the helicopter suddenly returned to the landing area.

The chopper crashed on its way back to the helipad and unfortunately killed Aris, the company’s employee who was on the ground at the time. Several parts of his body were decapitated as a result of the crash.
Survivors of the accident were Xi Lai Wang, Yan Yun, Di Yi Fei, Guan, Zhao Yipu, and Du Gui. Police are still investigating the cause of the helicopter crash.
