TEMPO.CO, Bandung - As many as 35 people in Bandung regency died from drinking bootleg liquors. Most of the victims were residents in Cicalengka, Bandung.
“The total victim who is undergoing medical treatment in Ebah or Majalaya and AMC Cileunyi Hospital is 128 people,” said Bandung Regional Secretary when met at Cicalengka hospital, Tuesday, April 10.
Based on Tempo observation, the residents who fell into victims due to drinking a golden-yellow alcohol drink in a plastic bottle keep increasing since Monday night at Cicalengka Hospital.

As many as 31 of 85 people died at the hospital. “In Majalaya, 3 of 26 people died, while in AMC, from 17 people, one died,” he said.
Furthermore, Bandung Health Agency head Ahmad Kusniadi called on the public to remain calm and for those consuming the bootleg liquor to immediately take an examination in a near hospital. “Do not wait until feeling dizzy, nausea, or other symptoms.”
According to Kusniasi, the incident could be taken as a deterrent effect for those adulterated alcohol drinkers. “Besides, this case shows the importance of education and socialization to the society on alcoholic drinks, especially bootleg liquor,” he asserted.
