Waste at Muara Angke Dominated by Instant Noodles Plastic Wraps

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that the waste that accumulates in Muara Angke Ecomarine Mangrove Forest is dominated by plastic waste. Most of it is instant noodle plastic wraps.
Since Saturday, March 17, the Jakarta Administration dredged the waste in the area. The waste is nearly 50 tons and it will be carried by truck to the final waste disposal site in Bantar Gebang.
Meanwhile today, the officers who are a combination of the Environment Department, PPSU, and TNI have dredged the 16 tons of waste.

Based on Tempo observation, it stretched along the beach in 50 meters with a width of 7-10 meters jutted into the sea. The waste that is close to the shoreline is already dry and begins to harden.
The area should be a conservation area of mangrove planting and milkfish cultivation. Because of the waste, the process of conservation and cultivation hampered.
Jakarta Administration team deployed an excavator tool to dredge in the west area.
While in the east area of Muara Angke Ecomarine Mangrove Forest there are 400 combined officers who dredged using fork, iron net until using hands.
