Transportation Ministry Promote Campaign Against Illegal Levies

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Transportation Ministry's land transport directorate general initiated the campaign “Stop Illegal Levies” to be implemented by officials and staff in the ministry’s administration.
"In the past, there was an incident of illegal levy in one directorate of Transportation Ministry and the official was arrested. Therefore, to encourage nation-wide campaign against illegal levies, I initiate the campaign for land transport directory general,” Transportation Ministry's director general for land transportation, Pudji Hartanto Iskandar said in Bogor, West Java,on Saturday (22/10).
The campaign entitled "Mission Impossible Stop Illegal Levies" was made official by an integrity pact to not engage in corruption and illegal levies signed by the officials and staff of Transportation Ministry's land transport directorate general.
The pact contains statement of commitment to actively participate in the prevention and eradication of corruption, collusion, nepotism, gratification and other misconducts. By doing so, Pudji expects the officials and staff no longer collect illegal levies. He also claims that punishment will be given to those involved in such a practice.
