TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Supreme Court will be examining Partahi Tulus Hutapea, one of the judge in the central Jakarta District Court that is currently handling Jessica Kumala Wongso’ case. The examination is related to an alleged Sin$ 28,000 levy offer in order to fix a civil matter submitted by PT Mitra Maju Sukses.

“The Supervisory Board of the Supreme Court (Bawas) will be conducting the investigation in whether he accepted the promise or not,” Says the spokesperson of the Supreme Court, Suhadi, on Thursday, October 13, 2016.

Partahi is a judge chairman that gave the verdict for case number 503/PDT.G/2015/PN/JKT/PST. Meanwhile Casmaya acted as a member of the judges. In the court case, PT Mitra Maju Sukses sued PT Kapuas Tunggal Persada’s tort.

Through their lawyer, Raoul Adhitya Wiranatakusumah, PT Kapuas Tunggal Persada allegedly gave Sin$ 28 thousand to the secretary replacement of the District Court, Muhammad Santoso. With the intent to influence the judge’s verdict into winning the defendant.

Suhadi explains, the ethical handling of both judges will be conducted by the Judicial Commission and Council Directive. He further added that if both are proven to have conducted an ethical violation, they could face suspension.
