Densus 88 Arrests Bontang Civil Cervant for Displaying ISIS Flag

TEMPO.CO, Balikpapan - The Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) anti-terror squad has arrested a person with suspected ties to terrorist organisation, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Densus 88 arrested Muchlis Ansyori, a civil servant of Bontang City Administration, in Bontang, East Kalimantan for storing and displaying ISIS flags in his room.
"We received the report [of someone displaying ISIS attributes], so the Police and Densus 88 immediately went out to investigate the matter," said the Head of East Kalimantan's Police Public Relations Division, Sr. Comr. Fajar Setiawan on Thursday, January 28, 2016.
Densus 88 is still investigating whether there are links between Muchlis - which remains under the custody of Bontang Police - and other terrorist suspects that has been linked to several terrorist attacks across Indonesia.
Fajar said that Police has the right to apprehend a person suspected of committing a crime for 20 days since the arrest was made. Police also have the right to extend the arrest, for as long as the investigators' require.
