TEMPO.CO, Bengkulu - A fire that engulfed PD Panca Motor car dealer at P. Tendean Street in Bengkulu, have scorched dozens of its cars on Thursday, September 24.
Bengkulu Fire Department Chief Mitrul Ajemi said the fire was believed to have caused by a short circuit. The fire started at 10:30am and managed to be tamed an hour later. “It will be further investigated by the police,” he said.
The fire department had to deploy nine fire trucks to extinguish the fire, in order to prevent the fire from spreading.
Company employee Tomy says the fire occurred at 10:30am and immediately he notified the fire department. The cars scorched were amid reparation wihich was partly confiscated from customers. “We have not calculated the damages caused by the fire,” he said.
The fire occurring at Bengkulu main road made hundreds of residents gather to witness the courageous fire fighters overcome the fire. Once the fire was extinguished, police immediately installed police-line to secure the area for investigation purposes.
