TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Local phone vendor Advan launches entry-class smartphone Vandroid S50F featuring 79-degree wide angle lens aimed to wefie photo-takers. With the wide-angle lens, users can take up to five people in the frame.
“It’s in line with the phone’s tagline ‘Wefie Everytime’,” said Advan Marketing Director, Tjandra Lianto on Friday.
Tagged arond Rp1 million, the phone adopts screen technology supplied from China, Taiwan and South Korea. It runs on MediTek 1.2 gigahertz chip and 1 GB RAM. It offers relatively low storage capacity of 8 GB.
Other interesting feature is that the phone has USB OTG port where users can plug a USB drive and play music directly from the USB. Audio and Video files stored in the USB will be displayed on the phone screen.
Differently from other entry-class competitors, Advan planted IDOS (Indonesian Operating System) based on Android KitKat 4.4 on the phone.
In addition to the OS, Advan is also developing its own digital store called Advan Store to attract more customers. Like Google Play and App Store, users can download games and applications from the store. However, unlike Google and Apple stores, Advan Store does not require users to sign in with email address to access the store.
“There are around hundred thousands of applications and games available for download,” Tjandra Explained.
“Most of which are free of charge.”
